London Weather Report: After rain destroyed England’s hope of winning the Ashes at home after eight long years at Old Trafford, it is expected that the rain Gods will play the role of spoilsport once again. England and Australia are gearing up for the 5th Ashes Test at The Oval, starting on July 27; however, Ben Stokes and Co.’s dream of redemption may have to wait another four years. Day 1 of the last test of the Ashes 2023 is expected to have light showers throughout the whole day, and fans may get to see little to no play in the middle.
England is well known for its unpredictable weather. There were no heavy stoppages due to rain in the first two Ashes Tests at Edgbaston and Lord’s. However, things escalated quickly from there. The third Test at Headingley saw an entire first session washed out on Day 3. Despite the rain, the third Test was concluded with England winning. In the last test at Old Trafford, however, the final two days saw a total of 30 overs bowled, with the entire fifth day being washed out.
