Logistics and Travel nightmare for Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup, Lions living ‘too far away’ from ground

Hasaranga disclosed that Sri Lanka are staying ninety minutes away from the Nassau County Cricket Stadium and that their team has been concerned about arriving early at the venue.

The T20 World Cup 2024 is well and truly underway, with USA and West Indies co-hosting the event. Sri Lanka has been dealt with a tough hand even before they could start their campaign. The island nation is dealing with logistical nightmare, with Wanindu Hasaranga and co. living too far from the ground.

Wanindu Hasaranga miffed with long travel-time to stadium in New York

Hasaranga expressed worries about the trip to New York for their T20 World Cup 2024 opening match against South Africa. Prior to the highly anticipated Group D match on Monday, June 3, Hasaranga disclosed that Sri Lanka are staying ninety minutes away from the Nassau County Cricket Stadium and that their team has been concerned about arriving early at the venue.

No, if we play under the lights, then we prepare everything under the lights at 10:30. The only concern is we have to come early to the ground. We had to come at 7.30 in the morning because we were so far from the ground. It will take like one and a half hours to the ground. That’s the only concern we have,” Hasaranga said.
