Litton Das has been at the centre of a controversy off late. The Bangladeshi batter was involved in a scuffle with journalists during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The prolific batter was disappointed with journalists and media personnel at the team hotel. Litton Das immediately went to call up security.
But then the Bangladeshi opener took to social media to apologize to the journalists for his action. He wholeheartedly apologized for the incident and claimed that he respects the media and the journalists for their hard work.
Taking to social media, Litton wrote, “I apologise whole-heartedly for the incident that took place in the team hotel yesterday. Actually, I did not realise that a lot of journalists were present there. I am extremely sorry for the sudden mishap. I am always respectful towards the media. Journalists have played a big role in the development of Bangladesh cricket.”

A Bangladeshi journalist earlier blasted Litton Das for the incident. He went on to claim that the cricketer was rude and that he cannot vent out his frustrations of the field on the journalists.
“It was rude behaviour from Litton. We were insulted in some way and it was not possible for us to accept it. Journalists will be there where Bangladesh cricket goes. The ICC had allowed us to talk to the players. Taskin (Ahmed) and Mahmudullah talked to us, but the way Litton behaved was unacceptable. He then asked the security what the mediapersons were doing. Just because he is not scoring runs doesn’t mean that he will misbehave with us,” the journalist told Daily Cricket.

It has been a rather poor outing for the Bangla Tigers in the opening phase of the World Cup. Bangladesh have won just 1 out of their 3 games and are placed 7th on the Points Table.
Similarly, it has not been a good outing for Litton Das too. The batter has managed to amass just 89 runs from the three matches including a good 76-run knock against England. Up next, India takes on Bangladesh on 19th October in Pune.
