Litton Das chooses PSL over Bangladesh, will skip Zimbabwe Tests to play for Karachi Kings

Litton Das, Rishad Hossain, and Nahid Rana are the three Bangladeshi players who have secured a PSL 2025 deal.

Former Bangladesh cricket team captain Litton Das has decided that he’ll play in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 rather than representing his country against Zimbabwe. In what has become a trend of skipping international cricket for leagues, Litton is just another addition.

Litton Das gets NOC for PSL

According to ESPNcricinfo, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has given the wicketkeeper batter an NOC (No Objection Certificate) for the entire PSL 2025 season.

For the unaware, Bangladesh is playing a 2-match Test series against Zimbabwe from April 20 to May 2. The two games will take place in Bangladesh, Sylhet and Chattogram. The tour will clash with the 10th edition of the PSL, which will be played from April 8 to May 19.

Bangladesh’s last ODI captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, had wanted the BCB to allow players to feature in franchise leagues all over the globe. But had admitted that it’s up to the board.

“I believe playing in such tournaments is important. Franchise cricket should definitely be played, but ultimately, the decision depends on the cricket board, coaches, and captain. If our cricketers start playing in these foreign franchise leagues, it will help them gain valuable experience and teach them to take responsibility. Sharing the dressing room with international players will be a great learning opportunity. I hope our cricketers get more chances to play in such tournaments in the future,” Shanto had said two weeks ago.

The BCB has given Litton and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain NOCs for the entire PSL 2025 season, while Nahid Rana has been given a partial NOC. The express pacer will play the first Test, April 20-24, and will then join his PSL team, Peshawar Zalmi, in the gold category. Litton was secured by Karachi Kings and Rishad by Lahore Qalandars in the silver category.
