Indian skipper Rohit Sharma ended his brief Test-run slump as he slammed a crucial ton to put India on top on the opening day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot on Thursday, February 15.
Team India were reeling at 33/3 but Rohit along with Ravindra Jadeja stitched a solid 204-run partnership to drag India out of precarious position.
The Indian opener scored 131 before he was caught at covers. During his record-breaking knock in Rajkot, Rohit broke multiple batting records.

- Rohit went past Ben Stokes and Usman Khawaja in the list of players with most centuries in the World Test Championships. Rohit (8) is only behind Joe Root (12), Marnus Labuschange (9), Steve Smith (8) and Kane Williamson (8) in the list.
- Rohit joined former India captain Kapil Dev in terms of centuries scored as India captain in Test cricket.
- Rohit Sharma surpassed MS Dhoni to become Indian captain with most international sixes (212).
- Rohit Sharma leapfrogged India skipper MS Dhoni on the list of most sixes in Tests by an Indian. Rohit has now smashed 80 sixes in 90 Test matches for India.
