Interestingly, Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir became the first bowler to receive the Purple Cap in the inaugural season in 2008. He took 22 wickets for the Rajasthan Royals in 11 games during that season.

Dwayne Bravo
Dwayne Bravo won two Purple caps in Indian Premier League history. Bravo won his first Purple Cap in IPL 2013 for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) where he had taken 32 wickets. In 2015, he again became the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 26 wickets.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
After Dwayne Bravo, Sunrisers Hyderabad medium pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the second bowler to win ‘Purple Cap’ in two seasons. Kumar took 23 wickets in IPL 2016 and the next season, he won the ‘Purple Cap’ with 26 scalps in 2017.
