The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 retentions were revealed on October 31, with overseas player Heinrich Klaasen securing the highest retention deal from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Rs. 23 crore.   • Shimron Hetmyer (11 Cr)- RR
  • Nicholas Pooran (21 Cr)- LSG
  • Heinrich Klaasen (23 Cr) – SRH
  • Pat Cummins (18 Cr) – SRH
  • Travis Head (14 Cr) – SRH
  • Matheesha Pathirana (13 Cr) – CSK
  • Sunil Narine (12 Cr) – KKR
  • Andre Russell (12 Cr) – KKR
  • Tristan Stubbs (10 Cr) DC

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained the most players for the IPL 2025 season, with key players Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, and Travis Head all staying on after strong performances in IPL 2024. CSK re-signed Matheesha Pathirana for one more year at Rs. 13 crore, while KKR secured two overseas players, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. Tristan Stubbs has also been retained by Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2025 mega auction rule for overseas players

There’s no limit on the number of overseas players a franchise can retain; a team could choose to retain only foreign players if desired. However, each franchise is allowed to retain a maximum of five capped international players and two uncapped players, regardless of whether they are Indian or foreign.
