Indian Premier League (IPL) has created new opportunities for batters to bat freely and hit shots without fear. After the IPL final, the top scorer of the competition gets awards with Orange Cap.
In the competition to become the tournament’s top run scorer and break enormous records, batters always engage in a fierce battle to unseat one another.
Several legendary players, like Jos Buttler, Sachin Tendulkar, and Matthew Hayden, have won the IPL Orange Cap. It’s interesting to note that only David Warner has earned three Orange Caps: in 2015, 2017, and 2019. “The Universe Boss,” Chris Gayle, earned two Orange Caps in consecutive years in 2011 and 2012.
Shaun Marsh, an Australian who was 24 years old at the time, was the only uncapped player to have won the Orange Cap. In the meantime, the only team that hasn’t yet taken home the IPL Orange Cap is the Lucknow Super Giants.
