Tushar Deshpande, who made his debut against Zimbabwe in the ongoing 5 match T20I series, has now stamped his name in the list of oldest Indian T20I debutants. Currently 29 years old, Tushar Deshpande has excelled in the IPL for the Chennai Super Kings over the years, specially in IPL 2024, where he took 17 wickets in 13 matches. He has finally made his debut for India. However, he is not the only player to have waited for a long time to receive his cap. Let’s take a look at the oldest debutants for India in T20Is.

Rahul Dravid still the oldest Player to Debut for India in T20Is

Rahul Dravid, known as ‘The Wall’, remains the oldest player to make a Twenty20 international debut for India or any Test-playing country. He played his only T20I against England in Manchester, where he scored 33 runs.

Apart from Dravid, there are several Indian players who had to wait for their opportunity to represent the team in T20Is. Pacer Rishi Dhawan, who made his debut for India against Zimbabwe. He played just one T20I, where he took one wicket but conceded 42 runs in 4 overs.
