Mumbai Indians clinched the IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders, and one of the heroes of the MI, Suryakumar Yadav, etched his name in the list of Indian batters who have completed 8,000 runs in T20 cricket. With this milestone, he became the fifth Indian batter to achieve this feat, doing so in his 312th innings.
There’s no question about the significance of this batter in the T20 format. He has proven his dominance with an impressive strike rate of over 150, continuously charging at bowlers.
Talking about this record, as mentioned, Suryakumar Yadav became only the fifth Indian batter to join this elite list. Before him, the run machine Virat Kohli, the Hitman Rohit Sharma, the ‘Mr. ICC’ Shikhar Dhawan, and the ‘Mr. IPL’ Suresh Raina had already made their mark. Kohli, as India’s leading scorer in T20s, has accumulated 12,976 runs.
