IPL 2025 kicks off with all 10 team captains posing with the trophy, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead!

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set two days away and the teams are ready to start their campaign. Before the biggest league of cricket begin, all the 10 captains posed for the phootshoot with the trophy which they will aim to win.

IPL 2025 has two new captains

IPL 2025 will feature two new captains. Delhi Capitals have appointed Axar Patel as their skipper, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have given Rajat Patidar the opportunity to lead the team.

Only four captains from IPL 2024 have retained their roles this season, including Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took on the responsibility last year. Hardik Pandya will continue as Mumbai Indians’ captain despite their disappointing IPL 2024 campaign, where they finished near the bottom of the points table.

Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill will also remain at the helm after being appointed captain in IPL 2024. Rajasthan Royals have continued their trust in Sanju Samson, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained Pat Cummins as their leader for another season.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed as the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for IPL 2025 after being bought in the auction. Shreyas Iyer, who led KKR to the IPL 2024 title, has moved to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and will captain their side this season. Additionally, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed Rishabh Pant for their IPL 2025 campaign.
