Prasidh Krishna made a lasting impression on his return to international cricket. Making his T20I debut in the IND vs IRE 1st T20, the Karnataka pacer rocked the Irish batting line up. Prasidh is amongst the contenders for a place in the Asia Cup and World Cup later this year.
Prasidh Krishna had a long injury layoff with a back injury. The Rajasthan Royals took little time to return to his best. Bowling his first over, Prasidh bounced out Harry Tector with the final ball of his first over.
He followed it with the wicket of George Dockerell in his second over. The Karnataka pacer finished with figures of 2/32 in his fours overs. It was a fine return to the pitch for a bowler who last played for India in Zimbabwe.
“It didn’t feel much like a debut as I’ve been with the team for a long time but we had a lot of fun out there. A happy journey back to cricket. I could have bowled better but most parts of it we were there,” he said after the game.
Prasidh is considered one of the main contenders for a spot in India’s World Cup squad. The lanky quick hits the deck hard, a rare commodity in Indian cricket. The Rajasthan Royals pacer had a bright start to his ODI career, before an injury derailed him. In 14 ODIs, the 27-year-old has 25 wickets at an average of 23.9.
