Another day and another game and Rajasthan Royals win. Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel powered RR to secure a dominating win over Lucknow Super Giants. LSG Assistant coach Lance Klusener claimed that his side didn’t land enough balls at the right areas to win the game.
“I think the captain was making sure that the batters don’t settle. There were a lot of positives that we can take from the match. We batted well, possible 10 runs short. Had we bowled well, we would have been in a good spot. We didn’t land the ball at the right spaces,” said Klusener after the game.
Probably 10-15 runs short
Despite putting up 196 runs on the board, LSG were not safe. Rajasthan Royals‘ Sanju Samson unleashed his fury to slam a mighty unbeaten knock of 71 runs. He was partnered by a brilliant fifty from Dhruv Jurel. Klusener claimed that his side are doing good stuff in patches. But as the tournament gets deeper, they have to consistently perform well.
“When we batted, we were probably 10-15 runs short. If you bat first or second, you need to bat properly. You need to maximise the score that is available at the wicket. We need to be a bit more clinical. Winning the IPL is about team’s making sure that they are on top of everything. We are doing good stuff in patches and for us and heading deeper into the tournament we have to make it up,” Klusener concluded.
