Krunal Pandya a must-have for RCB in IPL 2025, send warning to oppositions with all-round show in VHT

IPL 2025: Krunal Pandya could play a pivotal role for RCB in the next year's IPL, and is certainly impressing with his performances for Baroda.

While the IPL 2025 is still some distance away, but the team must be mighty happy with what they have might have seen of Krunal Pandya, in the second round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Sr. Panyda was bagged by the franchise for INR 5.75 Cr at the auction, and was looked at as a finisher, and a bowler who could come up with miserly overs in the middle.

Krunal Pandya Shines in Vijay Hazare Trophy

On Monday, Krunal delivered, both with bat and ball, for Baroda in the VHT. First he combined well with Ninad Rathva (136) to score 80 from 54 balls, to take his team to 403/4 in 50 overs, and then returned with figures of 2/44 while bowling. That meant, his team cruised to a 62-run win, with Krunal emerging as the best-performer for his side.

It must be reminded that Krunal’s economy of 4.40 was the best among all bowlers in the entire match, across oppositions, while the others were taken for runs by dozens. In fact, it was his bowling only, that put brakes on Kerala’s scoring rate, who too were going all guns blazing in their 404-run chase.

Good News for RCB for IPL 2025

Meanwhile, Mohammaed Azharuddeen was the lone star with the bat for Kerala, who smashed 104 from 58 deliveries for his side. On the other hand, veteran Sanju Samson was not playing the match, after he was left out of the Kerala squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, after he missed the team’s recent training camp.

As far as the points table for the tournament is concerned, in Group A Jharkhand leads the table with 2 wins in 2 matches. Come the Group B, Maharashtra are at the top with 8 points. Punjab lead the charts in Group C, Uttar Pradesh in Group D, and Baroda are the leaders in Group E.
