There were not many in the cricketing fraternity who could have predicted the rise of speedster Mayank Yadav before IPL 2024. Yadav caught the fancy of the Indian audience with his blistering pace and accurate length during Lucknow Super Giants’ win over Punjab Kings on Saturday. However, LSG all-rounder Krunal Pandya had named Mayank Yadav as the player to look out for in a chat before the IPL 2024 season began.
After Mayank’s heroics in Saturday’s game, LSG reposted the clip on their social media page where Pandya can be seen talking about Mayank when he was asked to name a player to look forward to the in the season.
“Mayank Yadav. That’s a fast bowler. Bowls quick. Excited to see him. Excited to see how he will go about it,” Krunal Pandya said in the clip posted on LSG’s Insta page.
Krunal has been in good form in the IPL 2024 season himself. On Saturday, he played a crucial innings of 43 runs from 22 balls and gave away only 26 runs in three overs as LSG achieved a comfortable victory.
