Koyi farak nahi padta: Mohammed Shami takes brutal dig at Hardik Pandya for leaving GT

Mohammed Shami aims brutal dig towards Hardik Pandya for leaving Gujarat Titans, claims 'No one cares'

India Cricket Team and Gujarat Titans star pacer Mohammed Shami has taken a brutal dig at Hardik Pandya. The controversy arose when Hardik Pandya left GT to re-join Mumbai Indians after 2 years on IPL 2024 Retention Day. In Pandya’s absence, youngster Shubman Gill has been named as the new captain. But Shami has claimed that with Panyda leaving, no one cares about it.

Hardik Pandya made a sensational switch to Mumbai Indians. After leading GT for their maiden IPL trophy in their inaugural season, Hardik led the side to yet another final last season. But this time, Pandya has joined his old franchise and has replaced Rohit Sharma as the new captain for the Mumbai based side.

“Kiso ko kisi Kai Jane Sai koyi farak nahi padta. (No one cares about anyone (Hardik Pandya) leaving the franchise). Hardik wanted to leave and he left. He did well as a captain as Gujarat made it to the final twice and also won the title once. He wasn’t tied up to Gujarat for lifetime,” Mohammed Shami told Sports 24.

Though Gujrat Titans have seniors like Kane Williamson, Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan, the team decided to build their team for the future. As a result, they decided to opt for Gill as being the captain. The seniors in turn can mentor the youngster to become an able skipper.

“Shubman Gill will also become experience and there is a possibility of him playing for another franchise in the future. You can’t stop anyone as it is part and parcel of the game,” Shami added.
