“Koi bhi aata hai aur baja deta hai”: Ahmed Shehzad blasts Pakistan’s humiliating Test defeat

Ahmed Shehzad didn’t hold back in his criticism of Pakistan's cricket team, saying they’re outplayed by everyone.

It has been 1,331 days (43 months) since Pakistan last won a Test match at their home sail. Their last victory came in February 2021 against South Africa in Rawalpindi, under the leadership of Babar Azam. On Friday, Pakistan’s struggles worsened with a crushing innings-and-47-run defeat against England in Multan, extending their winless streak to 10 Tests.

Ahmed Shehzad’s harsh Criticism

Veteran batter Ahmed Shehzad did not hold back while criticising the current Pakistan team, led by Shan Masood. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Shehzad expressed frustration over Pakistan’s continuous failures, claiming that every day brings a new low for the team.

Shehzad pointed out Pakistan’s humiliating defeats, saying, “Please fear god. Koi bhi aata hai aur aapko mandir ke ghante ki tarah baja deta hai. First Bangladesh came and you guys made a shameful history by losing to Bangladesh for the first time. You got whitewashed. Now against England, you’ve put up another shameless performance.” He stressed that the team seems to be outplayed by any opposition, regardless of their strength.

Lack of effort and character

Shehzad questioned the players’ character and effort, stating that there is no winning attitude in the squad. He highlighted the lack of energy and effort on the field, especially from the bowlers, whose pace had dropped significantly.

Further, Shehzad accused the current team of lacking accountability. He claimed that the players feel secure in their places and are not under any pressure to perform. He also criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not giving enough opportunities to young players, blaming both the current and previous management.

Record-breaking loss for Pakistan

Pakistan made unwanted history, becoming the first team in Test cricket to lose by an innings despite scoring over 550 in the first innings. As Pakistan looks to turn things around, they will attempt to bounce back in the second Test, starting Tuesday in Multan.
