The journalist inquired, “Mr. Sunil Gavaskar said that this is probably one of the 10 best Test hundreds by any batter in any conditions for India…” Before the question could be completed, an enthusiastic “WOW” escaped from Rahul, expressing his excitement, followed by an elaboration of his perspective.

“I’m very humbled he’s made that comment. It’s a pretty huge compliment to get,” responded KL Rahul with genuine humility. Reflecting on his approach to batting in the middle order, Rahul emphasized the importance of adapting to the situation presented by the game. “Yesterday and today the situation was quite clear: I am batting with the tail and need to take my chances. I tried to score as many runs as possible, so I’m pretty happy,” he added.

KL Rahul century not only showcased his cricketing prowess but could also mark a turning point in his Test career. After facing challenges and setbacks in 2023, including being dropped from the team and relinquishing the vice-captaincy, KL Rahul found his stride upon returning to the side.
