KL Rahul has been a constant in all formats of the game for Team India ever since his debut in 2014. While it took him some time, the batter has excelled in all formats of the games, having reached the top 10 in ranking in Tests and T20Is while being one of the best middle-order batters in ODIs.
We have seen Rahul mature in the last decade, and the Karnataka batter has even led India in all three formats. However, what are KL Rahul’s records in international cricket, and where does he find himself when comparing him to Indian greats?
KL Rahul T20 Record
Rahul holds several records in T20 cricket, a format where he has consistently performed ever since his debut in 2016. He is the 6th most fifties (24) behind greats like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
However, KL’s best record is being in the top 10 list of fastest players to score 1000 and 2000 runs in T20Is.
In franchise cricket, Rahul holds the record for the fastest 50 in IPL (14 balls) and the highest score by an Indian in IPL (132*).
KL Rahul ODI Record
Rahul is one of the selected few batters in ODIs who can bat at any position. He averages over 45 at three positions, No. 1, 4 and 5.
Among Indian batters, Rahul has the best average for a No. 5 batter (57.88) ahead of greats like MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and Yuvraj Singh.
He is the only Indian to have hit an ODI century on debut.

The Karnataka batter also placed 2nd in terms of most catches taken in a Test match (7). Interestingly, the record is also held by an Indian, Ajinkya Rahane, who claimed 8 catches against Sri Lanka in 2015.
