Team India lost both their matches in Bangladesh from winning positions. Sundar, during the press conference spoke about the importance of taking chances at the critical moments. In the 1st ODI India had Bangladesh at 136 for nine in a chase of 187 but failed to close out the match. In the second ODI, Bangladesh was struggling at 69/6 but a century from Mehidy Hasan and a half-century from Mahmudullah saw Bangladesh reach 271/7
Speaking about the performance in first two matches Sundar said, “To be honest, we had our opportunities in both the games, First game, they needed about 50 runs to win with one wicket and we had a good opportunity. And even the last game, we had a good opportunity”.
He added, “In the first innings, they were 70 for six and with the way Shreyas and Axar were batting, we we were going to win quite convincingly and Rohit bhai, the kind of knock he played, it was unreal. It was just about winning those critical moments, probably doing one or two things better here and there. We will look to end the one-day series on a high.”
Vice-captain Kl Rahul will lead India in Chattogram on Saturday for the first time since the tour of Zimbabwe. India have already lost the series, but have to play for their pride as Bangladesh aim for a whitewash. In their last five games in Bangladesh, they have won only once. Rahul will hope that the Men in Blue can end that run in Chattogram.
KL Rahul is standing in for Rohit Sharma, who is ruled out due to a dislocated thumb. The 35-year-old is ruled out of the 3rd ODI and is a doubt for the test series. Should he miss out, Rahul would be expected to lead the side.
India face an injury crisis with only 13 members of the squad available for the final game. Deepak Chahar, Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Sen joined the list after the 2nd ODI creating a crunch for resources. How, Rahul and Dravid tackle that will be interesting to see on Saturday.

India have had a disastrous 2022 and it has not been all smooth sailing for the Indian vice-captain. He is likely to face the scourge of the media on Friday. Rahul is also tasked with answering how India bounces back from this low point. Some questions on his style of leadership will also be expected.
Furthermore, the stand-in captain could hint at a couple of changes. India do need to replace the injured Deepak Chahar and Rohit Sharma in the XI. Ishan Kishan and Shahbaz Ahmed would be the preferred options, while Rahul Tripathi and Rajat Patidar could also make their debuts.
