KL Rahul names Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Kane Williamson as ‘gentlemen’ of cricket

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter also heaped praise on Rohit Sharma's captaincy at a time when MI are struggling for form under their new skipper.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul named MS Dhoni, Kane Willamson, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as gentlemen of the game. KL Rahul chatted with Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter’s talk show on YouTube, where the duo touched on numerous topics including what KL Rahul means by gentlemen, Rohit Sharma’s influence on the Indian team and much more.

Ashwin, who has a famous talk show on YouTube called ‘Kutti Stories with Ash’, hosted KL Rahul on its 3rd episode. In of the the talk show’s segment, KL Rahul was asked to name the gentlemen of the game.

MS Dhoni, Kane Williamson, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli,” KL Rahul answered, before explaining what he means by ‘gentlemen’.

Someone who is very composed, doesn’t show too much emotion on a cricket field. That’s what I like to see in a sports man. Very calm and composed, knows what to do, doesn’t get fazed by victory or loss. Just enjoying playing the sport that they love. That’s what comes to my mind when we say gentleman in the game,” KL Rahul said.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter also heaped praise on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Interestingly, his praise comes at a time when MI are struggling for form with a new captain at its helm after removing Rohit before the tournament.

KL Rahul said, “Rohit Sharma brings the calmness in India’s dressing room and that helps players a lot. He makes sure that players understand their role and have enough time to adjust. He just makes everyone feel comfortable in the team“.
