He needs at least 2 months to be completely fit. This also ruled out his return to the Indian squad for the Asia Cup squad, scheduled to begin next month. India’s tour of West Indies starts on July 22 as India play three ODIs and five T20Is, with no Test matches on the tour.
KL Rahul was spotted at the gym where he was seen playing some wonderful cricket strokes. Rahul uploaded a video on social media with the caption, “Step by step” demarking his gradual step-by-step recovery into the game.

KL Rahul Health Updates:
- KL Rahul sustained a sports hernia on the eve of the first T20I against South Africa
- After doctor’s advice he underwent a surgery in Germany and therefore missed the England tour
- With six weeks of rest, it highly looks like he will miss the West Indies tour as well as the Asia Cup
KL Rahul captained his team Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022 and was selected as the skipper of the Indian team that would take on the Proteas. However, he pulled out a day prior to the first game with a groin strain which was later confirmed as a sports hernia. Rahul then traveled to Germany to undergo his surgery.
The cricketer therefore missed being a part of the India Tour of England and now will be missing the trip to West Indies. With almost 2 months still required for the player in being perfectly fit, Rahul is also unlikely to be available for the Asia Cup.
