KL Rahul is all set to return to domestic red-ball cricket in Karnataka’s final game of Ranji Trophy second leg. The star batter has reportedly confirmed his availability for the game against Haryana which begins on January 30. Rahul had missed the first game against Punjab owing to a niggle.
KL Rahul available for KAR vs HAR Ranji Trophy tie
As per Times of India, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) president Raghuram Bhat confirmed Rahul’s availability for the next Ranji match. Karnataka’s squad for the final group stage match of the domestic red-ball tournament is expected to be announced later today. Karnataka won their previous match against Punjab by an innings and 207 runs, thanks to a double hundred from Smaran Ravichandran.
“I am not in Bengaluru at the moment but from the information I have received, he is available for the last Ranji Trophy match,” Raghuram Bhat told TOI.

The Karnataka batter last featured in the tournament in 2015. Despite being one of the best batters in the recently concluded tour to Australia, there is still room for a lot of improvement for the batter. With 7262 runs from 103 first-class matches, he was one of the regulars in domestic red-ball tourneys until he became an all-format player.
While the likes of Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant misfired in the penultimate round of Ranji second leg, Shubman Gill stood out with a fighting century in the 2nd innings against Karnataka, albeit in a losing cause. On the other hand, Jadeja impressed with a 10-wicket haul for Saurashtra. Virat Kohli, who like Rahul missed the first round, will take part in Delhi’s second round match against Railways.
