Poor start to the season – So far in the IPL, Nitish had scored 21, 10, 0, 8 and 30 and was struggling to find form in the current season. However, today Nitish was at his vintage best as KKR found the missing piece in the puzzle in their middle order. Nitish was supported by Andre Russell at the other end before departing on a DRS overturn on T Natrajan’s ball.
KKR with new dimension to the team – Nitish Rana’s form was one of the concerns in the team as KKR management gave him yet another chance despite having a poor form. Ajinkya Rahane was shown the exit door due to inconsistent form, while there was call for Nitish to be dropped if performances don’t improve. However, this innings comes as a welcome addition and a relief for KKR.

No real contribution from others – While Nitish Rana was in blistering form, there was no real contribution from other boys apart from Andre Russell and captain Shreyas Iyer as they were the only players to get in double figures. Russell played a cameo role with a well-made 49 off 25 deliveries while Shreyas Iyer scored 28 off 25 deliveries.
