KKR vs MI in IPL 2021: Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav brought up his A-game once again, bringing up 50 off 33 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday.
Suryakumar Yadav had to come to bat early after Quinton de Kock was dismissed in the 2nd over. But he went hammer and tongs from the get-go, punishing ace spinner Harbhajan Singh with 14 runs. With Chennai’s slow wicket being a factor, he partnered Rohit Sharma to bring up a 76-run stand for the 2nd wicket. However, he could not take his score to triple-digit as he was dismissed in the 11th over by Shakib Al Hasan.

The Mumbai batsman has been in fantastic form. He carried on right from where he left off in IPL 2020. Last season, he scored 480 runs in 16 matches including four half-centuries at a strike rate of 145.01. He continued that run in domestic cricket. While he did not get many runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he was back in form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring, scoring 332 in just five matches. It included a century against Pondicherry and 91 against Himachal Pradesh.

India debut: His fantastic form earned him a place in India’s T20I and ODI squad against England and he did not disappoint. Suryakumar Yadav began his international career, pulling Jofra Archer for a massive six. He scored 57 off 31 in the match against England in the 4th T20I in Ahmedabad, announcing his arrival on the international stage.
KKR vs MI: IPL: As for IPL, he has made his name in the IPL and in the last eight innings, he has scored 40, 79*, 12*, 36, 51, 19, 31, 56. Last season, he was Mumbai Indians’ man-Friday and was a key reason why MI lifted their fifth IPL title. When the top order fell, he anchored MI innings forward and won them the matches. Furthermore, it’s his consistency that has been key for Mumbai.
“Firstly, it feels really great to be back with MI family. I was really looking forward to having a good net session, good first net session because it’s important how you start before the tournament,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the video posted by Mumbai Indians before the IPL.
Against KKR, he has been successful as well. In six innings, Suryakumar has scored 224 runs with an average of 44.80.
