Cummins’ quarantine is getting over on Monday, April 4. Speaking about his availability, head coach Brendon McCullum said “Pretty delighted to get Pat back. He’s one of those guys who adjusts so well in this environment and is a wonderful human being. He is a strong leader as well, so he should be of good help to skipper Shreyas (Iyer), who has been impressive as well.”
KKR will now find themselves in a selection dilemma, as in Cummins’ absence, Kiwi pacer Tim Southee did a really fantastic job for the Knights. “We have now got a selection headache because we’ve got more guys to pick from, which I think is a good problem to have,” McCullum added.
Shreyas Iyer-led KKR will be relieved that Cummins has joined the team. Not only he is their premier bowler, but he is also an important part of the leadership group. The right-arm fast bowler is street smart and shrewd with his cricketing sense. Over the past few years, he has earned the management’s trust.
