It seemed like that KKR and Eden Gardens pitch curator, Sujan Mukherjee’s feud had finally ended, after Ajinkya Rahane’s team posted an 80-run win over SRH, on a surface that offered assistance to spinners. Varun Chakravarthy was excellent in the clash, as he returned with figures of 3/22, that helped in restricting the opposition to only 120.
KKR Denied Surface of Choice at Eden Gardens
But now, as per a fresh report in RevSportz, Eden Gardens curator has turned down another request made by the KKR team. The report says that the “home team” had asked for a used pitch, but then, for the upcoming clash with LSG, they will get a fresh pitch no. 4. Having said that, it would be similar in nature to the pitch that was used for the last match.
“First up, a pitch needs to be tended to after a game and requires a bit of resting,” said a source in the know. “But even if it was possible to play on the same pitch, it was never going to be used for the LSG game. A used pitch in this heat is high-risk. Pitch No. 4 will be used instead.”

The repot also suggested that the pitch for the LSG match would offer a bit of turn, but nothing drastic. “It will have something for everyone if the players are up to it,” said the source.
Meanwhile, LSG have in their ranks, a local spinner in Shahbaz Ahmed, who knows the conditions well. “Ball thoda rukega yehan pe (the ball will stop a bit here),” he said at the pre-match press conference. “There will be turn. At the same time, run-scoring is possible as well.”
As far as the points table is concerned, KKR have reached the fifth spot with two wins in four matches, while LSG too has the same number of wins, but a poorer NRR and are on sixth position.
