KKR vs DC Live: Delhi Capitals’ prized ASSET, Anrich Nortje DROPPED after just one match, UNFIT pacer set to spend longer on bench
In the last game, it appeared as if Nortje was fast-tracked into the team as he looked completely wayward and lacked any rhythm. In the very first over that he bowled in that match, he conceded 19 runs, with his South African teammate Quinton de Kock smashing him all around the park.
He further made matters worse was he bowled two beamers in the match, which was deemed dangerous, that forced Rishabh Pant to bring him out of the attack. Nortje bowled just 2.2 overs and conceded 35 runs with an economy of 15 runs per over.
His poor form has forced Rishabh Pant to drop him from the game against KKR. Khaleel Ahmed has been brought back in as the left arm pacer has looked in fine touch. He played the forst two matches for the Capitals and has picked up four wickets with an economy of 7.5.
Nortje is expected to be given some more time to get better and find his rhythm back. He was retained by the franchise ahead of this year’s IPL for 6.5 crores.
