Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) began their Phase 2 campaign with back to back wins over rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) but were defeated in the last game by Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Now coming into the game against Delhi, KKR are currently fourth in the points table, with four wins in nine games, ahead of fellow challengers Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians on net run-rate.
Delhi Capitals meanwhile are unbeaten in their two games of Phase, clinching wins over the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. The Capitals could move into the top of the table with a win and will be aiming to keep up their momentum as they look to be heading into the playoffs.
In the game earlier this season, Delhi chased down KKR’s total of 154 with 21 balls to spare, thanks to Prithvi Shaw’s epic 82 off 41. The Capitals opener hit six fours in an over off Shivam Mavi in the process, to hand a comfortable win in Ahmedabad.
