‘KKR trust Harshit Rana more than Mitchell Starc’: Ex-India opener makes surprising revelation ahead of KKR vs RR

Starc got into the groove in the last match against LSG, taking three wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs. However, Rana has been KKR's go-to fast bowler in death overs.

Former India opener Aakash Chopra believes Kolkata Knight Riders have more trust on Harshit Rana that their Rs 24.75 crore signing Mitchell Starc as a death bowler. Rana has been the unsung hero of KKR amid powerful batting performances, giving away less runs and bowling consistently at the death.

Battle for top spot

Kolkata Knight Riders will take on table-toppers Rajasthan Royals in what promises to be an exciting encounter among two IPL teams in top form at the Eden Gardens. Starc got into the groove in the last match against LSG, taking three wickets for 28 runs in his 4 overs.

‘Rana more trustworthy’

Speaking about the focus points of Tuesday’s game, Aakash Chopra in a YouTube video on his channel said, “I was thinking about going towards Mitchell Starc because he picked up three wickets in the last match, nothing in the game before that, but two in the game prior to that. However, I am thinking of going towards Harshit Rana.”

If you see his last match’s performance, he didn’t pick up even a single wicket but he was bowling well. So I will look towards Harshit Rana because he comes and bowls well in the death overs. In fact, he is trusted more than Starc. They get Starc to bowl one over but make Harshit bowl two,” the former India opener added.
