In Roy’s absence, Rahmanullah Gurbaz stroked a counterattacking 81 in the last game. None of the KKR batters got going but it was Gurbaz who launched an assault to all parts of the ground. Should Roy be fit, he will return to the top with Gurbaz, while Rana-Venky-Rinku form a potent middle order.
Shardul Thakur is also set for a return to the side. The all-rounder has been battling fitness issues but is close to making a comeback to the side. Umesh Yadav however remains out of action due to a niggle. Sunil Narine, Suyash Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy will form the spin tricumvate.
