IPL 2021 – KKR Playing XI vs RR: But as per recent reports, Varun Chakravarthy has suffered a knee injury and he is not in a good shape to take part in the T20 World Cup. That means, he is unlikely to take any further part in the IPL 2021 as BCCI would be monitoring his injury closely.
“Varun’s knees are not in greatest condition. He is in pain and trust me had it not been in a T20 World Cup, perhaps even Indian team management wouldn’t have taken the risk of playing him,” a BCCI source privy to the development told PTI on condition of anonymity.
“To be 100 percent fit, he might later require an extensive rehab but right now, the focus will be on his pain management during T20 World Cup. As far as I know, the KKR’s support staff has prepared an elaborate strength and conditioning chart for Varun, which is a part of his larger injury management programme. He also is administered pain killer injections so that he can bowl his four overs without much difficulty,” a BCCI official told PTI.

IPL 2021 – KKR Playing XI vs RR: But Andre Russell is fit again and has been a match-winning all-rounder for Kolkata Knight Riders over the past couple of seasons. His unavailability leaves a big void in the lower middle order as well as death over bowling attack for KKR.
Eoin Morgan’s side tested Tim Siefert in the previous against Punjab Kings but the Kiwi wicketkeeper batsmen couldn’t impress as he went out cheaply after being run out. KKR tried Shakib Al Hasan against Sunrisers Hyderabad who had a fair outing with the ball, finishing at 1-20.

As for other places, Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer will continue to open as both are in good form while Rahul Tripathi will come at No 3. Even though captain Eoin Morgan has had a terrible form with the bat, he is a certainty as he will be leading the side. But he will be desperate to return to form.
Nitish Rana has done decently at the new No 5 position and will retain the spot. He will be followed by Dinesh Karthik. However, Andre Russell’s spot could go to
