Mandeep Singh’s wretched run of form continued as he managed a golden duck against RCB. With Narayan Jagadeesan on the bench, KKR will be tempted to bring in the Tamil Nadu star for the trip to Ahmedabad. Rahmanullah Gurbaz showcased his class with a timely half-century and should retain his place in the side. Whether KKR partners him with the latest recruit Jason Roy, remains to be seen.
Tim Southee has had a forgettable two games and is likely to make way. Lockie Ferguson should return having resumed bowling full tilt during practice. Whether the Kiwi pacer is match fit remains to be seen, however. Shardul Thakur’s effort with bat in hand and their spin bowling troika keeps them well in the hunt to make it back-to-back wins.
Captain Nitish Rana and Andre Russell need to fire big time. The mainstays of this line, both players have had lukewarm shows so far. KKR will need their stars to align if they want to make an early claim for the playoffs berth.
