Kolkata Knight Riders have always been considered as a IPL dark horses, as they have shown their potential many times. This season also, they are performing decently well. Having played 7 matches, KKR has won 5 of them, comfortably seated at the number 2 position on the IPL table with an impressive run rate.

Although the team is doing well, there are still a few loopholes which KKR will look to fill, as some players are not performing up to the mark. It is possible that we might not see them in upcoming matches. KKR management might bench few players. Check the names of all the players who might get benched.

Mitchell Starc

The first name that comes to list is Australian star pacer Mitchell Starc. KKR bought Starc at the hefty price of 24.75 crore but it turned out to be a bad buy for them. He didn’t perform as per expectations to date. Having played six matches, he has conceded 232 runs with a poor average of 46.40.

Starc’s poor performance is one of the reasons KKR lost crunch moments in some matches. Management might consider giving him some rest for the upcoming few matches.

Vaibhav Arora

Vaibhav Arora is another name that hasn’t made much impact for KKR to date. Although he has taken 7 wickets this season, he has also conceded a lot of runs. Having played 4 games, he has conceded 84 runs with a high bowling economy of 9.57. Considering his current form, KKR management might bench him as well.

Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep was brought into the team as an all-rounder, but it seems he is also failing to meet his team’s expectations. In IPL 2024, he has scored only 51 runs in 6 innings. He hasn’t had any chances to bowl yet, but considering his form, KKR might rest him and give some new talent a chance.
