Delhi Capitals missed making to the IPL finals after losing in dramatic fashion to Kolkata Knight Riders. DC Opener Prithvi Shaw was reduced to tears after KKR hit the winning runs. The young DC star fell to the ground and was inconsolable as his teammates tried to pull him up. KKR will now meet CSK in IPL Finals on Friday at 7.30PM.
KKR beat DC IPL 2021 – Prithvi Shaw in tears: Speaking after the heartbreaking loss, Rishabh Pant said he doesn’t have words to describe the loss but stressed Delhi Capitals showcased once again that they are a team who fight till the very end.
“I don’t have words to express at the moment, can’t tell anything. We just kept believing, tried to stay in the game as long as possible. The bowlers nearly pulled it back, but it’s unfortunate that it didn’t go our way,” Pant said.

KKR beat DC Highlights – Delhi Capitals batting struggled against disciplined KKR bowling: Earlier, put in to bat, Delhi Capitals got off to a steady start as openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan put on 32 runs for the first wicket, but this stand was finally broken in the 5th over by Varun Chakravarthy as he outclassed Shaw (18). After the end of the first six overs, Delhi Capitals’ score read 38/1.
Marcus Stoinis, who came in place of Tom Curran was promoted to number 3, and along with Shikhar Dhawan, put on 39 runs for the second wicket. However, as soon as Delhi started to gain an upper hand, KKR got the breakthrough of Stoinis (18) as Shivam Mavi dismissed the right-handed batter. Soon Chakravarthy picked up his second wicket as he removed Dhawan (36) and Delhi was reduced to 83/3 in the 15th over.
