India batter Virat Kohli entered into record books in IND vs AFG World Cup match in Delhi on Wednesday. The 34-year-old surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs in ICC World Cups both 50-over and T20 combined.
Kohli crossed Tendulkar’s record of 2278 runs in his 53rd World Cup innings. He is the first batter on the list with an average over 60. The former Indian skipper first featured in 2011 World Cup, scoring 282 runs from nine innings. Kohli has so far featured in four ODI World Cups and five T20 World Cups.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scored a 63-ball ton, while Virat Kohli hit a an unbeaten 55 as Team India beat Afghanistan by 8 wickets in Delhi on Wednesday. India chased down the target of 273 runs with 15 overs to spare.
Rohit scored a stunning 131-run knock and broke several records, including Sachin Tendulkar’s most centuries in a World Cup milestone. Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah picked a four-wicket haul as India restricted Afghanistan to 272/8 after being asked to bowl first.
Team India will now prepare for the blockbuster IND vs PAK clash, set to be played on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
