Star Indian batter, Virat Kohli, has achieved yet another record by becoming the sixth Indian batter to complete 8500 Test runs. The 34-year-old reached the milestone on Day 12of IND vs WI 1st Test in Dominica.

Notably, Kohli needed 21 runs to achieve the feat and he reached their comfortably in the 103rd over with a single.
Kohli is sixth Indian to clock 8500 Test runs. He is fifth fastest Indian batter to reach 8500-run mark in Tests in terms of innings played.

For Kohli, his 8500th Test run came in his 185th innings. The former Indian captain also holds numerous other records in the game.
Virat Kohli is currently sixth on the list of Indian batters with most runs in Test cricket.
The list is led by Sachin Tendulkar followed by Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, and Virender Sehwag.

India in cruise control after Day 2
Yashasvi Jaiswal starred on debut with an unbeaten 143 while skipper Rohit Sharma smashed his 10th Test ton as India took cruise control of the opening Test against the West Indies. Jaiswal and Rohit put on a record 229-run partnership before Rohit departed on 103.
Shubman Gill couldn’t stay for long as he got dismissed cheaply on 6. However, Virat Kohli gave a solid company to Jaiswal as the duo take India to 312/2 at Stumps.
