Mumbai batter and Sarfaraz Khan’s brother Musheer Khan on Tuesday was named in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad for their quarter final against Baroda. The match will be played from 23rd to 26th February 2024 at MCA Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
Musheer Khan was a part of India’s U-19 World Cup sqaud. The batter had an electrifying World Cup campaign although Uday Saharan led India lost to Australia in the final.
Musheer was on song throughout the tournament, scoring 360 runs in 7 matches including two centuries against Ireland and New Zealand. He became only the second India batter after former India opener Shikhar Dhawan to score multiple centuries in the U19 World Cup.
Musheer’s elder brother Sarfaraz Khan grabbed the headlines when he scored twin half-centuries on his Test debut in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. A video released by the BCCI of Sarfaraz having a video chat with Musheer after his half-century in the 1st innings of the Test also went viral.
Although Musheer made the squad for Mumbai’s match against Baroda, the team suffered a huge jolt when Shreyas Iyer missed out due to a back injury.
