Khamosh Reh: Iftikhar Ahmed abuses Pakistani fan for calling him ‘Chachu’

Iftikhar Ahmed was left angry after a Pakistani fan called him 'Chachu' during NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I on Sunday.

Pakistan cricketer Iftikhar Ahmed was left fuming at a fan after he was called ‘Chachu’ during the recently concluded NZ vs PAK 2nd T20I played at the Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday, (January 14). The incident took place when Iftikhar Ahmed was standing near the boundary ropes as one of Pakistani fan from the crowd called him ‘Chachu’. His actions didn’t go down well with Iftikhar as he asked the fan to keep quiet after he told him that ‘we are your fans’.

New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 21 runs after scoring 194 off their 20 overs. New Zealand opener Finn Allen was the star of the show with his 74 runs. In reply, Pakistan managed to score 173/10 in 19.3 overs as they lost the match by 21 runs. Senior batters Babar Azam (66 runs) and Fakhar Zaman (50 runs) completed their respective fifties. However, that was not enough to secure a victory for the Men in Green.

Pakistan have now lost two matches in a row and they will need to secure a win at any cost in the third match to stay alive in the series. The NZ vs PAK 3rd T20I will be played on Wednesday (January 17) in Dunedin.
