Key player Kane Williamson will be fit for NZ vs SA Tests, asserts confident coach

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is on the brink of recovery and is most certain to play in the NZ vs SA Tests

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is on the brink of recovery and is most certain to play in the NZ vs SA Tests, head coach Gary Stead informed. Williamson was ruled out for last 3 NZ vs PAK T20Is after suffering tightness in his right hamstring.

Williamson to be fit for NZ vs SA Tests

With the Tests against a depleted Proteas squad coming up, Stead asserted that Williamson would be fit in time for the game. The head coach informed that the Kiwi star had a day or two more to go before he could resume training. He added that they wanted to be extremely careful with Kane and not rush his recovery.

I’m confident he will be alright,” Stead said. “He’s probably got another day or two before he starts back into training and it was a minor niggle, which is a good thing. So, we didn’t want to aggravate it and didn’t see the point of aggravating it with the important series that are ahead. He’s obviously a key player and we know that and we want to make sure we’ve given him every chance of being available,” Stead added.

New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. The past three years have thrown curveballs like a niggly elbow, a ruptured knee ligament, and even a broken thumb, but Williamson’s batting average across formats tells a different story.

Kane Williamson’s rapid return from a potentially career-ending knee injury in just six months was remarkable. He even led the Black Caps to the ODI World Cup semifinals despite a broken thumb in his first match back. It’s this dedication and resilience that define him.
