The Kerala cricket team are set to tour Oman for a one-day series in April. The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has announced a 16-man squad that will take on the 17th ranked ODI team in the ICC Ranking from April 20 to 26. And KCA will hold a pre-series training camp from April 15 to 18 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Kerala had a great 2024-25 domestic season, as they reached the final of the Ranji Trophy for the first time. Their performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy wasn’t that great, as they were eliminated in the group stage itself after winning just two of their six matches. This tour of Oman will therefore aid them.
Sanju Samson & Sachin Baby unavailable
Coming to the squad, KCA haven’t named Sanju Samson and Sachin Baby. Both of the star players are playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season and won’t be available. Samson is the captain of the Rajasthan Royals, while Baby is part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Although two of Kerala’s great batters will be missing, they’ll have the likes of Mohammed Azharuddeen and Salman Nizar there. Wicketkeeper batter Azharuddeen will be leading the side against Oman as well.
