Kerala is on the verge of creating history. The side has put one foot in reaching their maiden Ranji Trophy finals. Batting first Kerala managed to score 457 runs. In reply, Gujarat fell by just 2 runs after being bowled out for 455. Now, the Sachin Baby-led side is on the verge of creating history by making it to the Ranji finals for the very first time.

An epic encounter was witnessed as Kerala locked horns with Gujarat in the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. Hopes were pinned high on Kerala as the side was desperate to make it to the finals of the tournament for the very time. Now, it seems that the dream can be a reality.

Kerala one step closer to achieving dream

Playing away from home in this fixture, it was the visitors who showcased their dominance. Batting first in the innings, Kerala managed to amass 457 runs in their opening innings. Captain Sachin Baby scored 69 but the keeper Mohammed Azharuddeen stole the limelight with his exceptional knock of 177 runs.

In reply, Gujarat fell short by just 2 runs. Opener Priyank Panchal showcased his grit and determination as he steamrolled his way to a brilliant knock of 148 runs. Aarya Desai’s 73 and Jaymeet Patel’s 79 were also crucial for the hosts to cut down the huge margin.

But eventually on Day 1, the hosts were bowled out for 455, trailing by 2 runs. With Kerala batting again, it looks all but set for the visitors to take advantage courtesy of their highest first-innings score and make it to their maiden finals in the Ranji Trophy.
