Kenya get new head coach from India! Dodda Ganesh to embark on mission to get country back into World Cup

Former Indian pacer Dodda Ganesh has been named Kenya's new head coach and has been handed a one-year contract

Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh has been named the new head coach of the Kenya cricket team. The Karnataka veteran has been handed the reins of the team ahead of the ICC Division 2 challenge league in September.

Dodda Ganesh is Kenya’s new coach

As per reports, Dodda Ganesh has been given a one-year contract. Kenya announced Ganesh as the new coach in a ceremony at the Sikh Union Club in Nairobi.

My mission is to take Kenya back to the World Cup, that’s where this country belongs. I watched Kenya play in the World Cup in 1996,1999, 2003 and 2011. I’m not sure what happened in between the ten years period. but now my work is cut out, we have to get there at any cost,” Ganesh said after being named the new head coach.

Kenya failed to make it to the ODI World Cup after 2011. The most impressive performance of the side came in the 2003 World Cup when they made it to the semi-finals only to lose against India. The ICC Division 2 Challenge League will mark the start of Kenya’s journey to make it back to the ODI World Cup.
