Kane Williamson’s injury
Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury while playing in the IPL 2023 earlier this year. Kane Williamson, who represented Gujarat Titans, ruptured his ACL in the game against CSK. While many doubted his recovery time, Kane Williamson has shown that he is probably just on time to being fit ahead of World Cup 2023.
Post his surgery, it was told that Kane Williamson might not be able to take part in World Cup 2023 but might travel with the New Zealand team as a mentor. However, Kane Williamson downplayed these reports in June, with his eyes firmly fixed on the World Cup 2023. Now, it looks like he is all set to be back in the New Zealand squad.

Kane Williamson on his injury
During the last World Cup, the 33-year-old was New Zealand’s highest run-scorer amassing over 550 runs. Naturally, Williamson is the big match player and is the team’s enforcer.
However, while speaking about recovery, the New Zealand skipper said he is taking one week at a time and said the journey won’t be completely smooth.
“Very much just trying to keep it week-to-week at the moment. I haven’t had such a long-term injury before but talking to other people that have, the journey is a bit of a long one so if you look too far ahead, it probably can become a little bit daunting,” Williamson was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
