Kagiso Rabada achieves rare landmark, becomes 5th proteas bowler to take 50 Test wickets vs India

IND vs SA Test: Kagiso Rabada continues to be a threat for India, registers 50th Test wicket vs IND

Kagiso Rabada has been the Man in form for South Africa in the ongoing IND vs SA 1st Test. He has rattled India’s batting order with his sublime bowling in the first innings. He has gone on to scalp 50 wickets against India in Test cricket. He becomes the 5th Proteas bowler to register this mega record. He scalped Rohit Sharma for a duck in India’s second innings to register the landmark.

Earlier, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Alan Donald and Shaun Pollock achieved this rare landmark for the Rainbow Nation. Rabada headed into the match 6 wickets shy of the 50 wicket mark. But the Proteas pacer silenced the Indian batting lineup with his immaculate bowling.

Breaking a plethora of records, he claimed his first fifer against India to continue his fiery form. Rabada went on to scalp his 4th Test fifer as he registered 500 International wickets.

He struck the first blow when he dispatched Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. He then struck Shreyas Iyer quite early after Lunch. After Iyer, he again quickly scalped set Virat Kohli to inflict a double whammy on the visitors. With India’s lower middle order taking the field, Rabada first dispatched a shaky Ravi Ashwin and then went on to dismissed the battered and bruised Shardul Thakur. He finished his spell in the first innings with a fifer.

Second innings, he took Rohit Sharma for a duck. This was the 7th time that Rabada has dismissed Rohit for a duck in Test cricket.
