‘JUSTICE FOR Rinku Singh’ Fans questions BCCI’s baffling decision to leave out India’s ‘best’ finisher from T20 WC

Rinku Singh, India's dependable finisher in recent T20Is, has been surprisingly left out of the final 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.

Star batsman Rinku Singh’s surprise exclusion from India’s T20 World Cup squad has sent shockwaves through the cricketing fraternity and social media. The mega event, to be held in the West Indies and USA this June, will see India field a team without their designated finisher.

Rinku with an AVG of 89 & SR of 176 excluded

Rinku, known for his explosive batting in the later overs, had been a consistent run-scorer for India in T20Is leading up to IPL 2024. In his 15 appearances for the national team, he amassed an impressive 356 runs. Notably, he racked this up at an extraordinary average of 89.0 and a staggering strike rate of 176.24. Interestingly, he was also dismissed only four times in the 11 innings he batted.

This stellar record made his exclusion from the final 15-man squad even more surprising. Rinku was named among the four reserve players travelling with the team. However, fans and pundits alike have expressed their disappointment with the decision.

Social media has been flooded with criticism directed at the BCCI. Many users questioned the logic behind dropping a player with such capabilities. Former cricketers have also joined the chorus of disapproval, calling the decision “baffling.”
