Buttler came out to bat alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal after Punjab Kings posted 187 in the first innings. He was eager to get off the mark to avoid an embarassing third successive duck. The 32-year got the strike for the first time in the match in the second over. He faced Kagiso Rabada and wasn’t able to score off the first three deliveries.
Rabada then bowled a fuller length delivery that hit Buttler on the pads. Vociferous appeal soon followed and Buttler was given out LBW. The English batsman walked back in disappointment as his poor run of form continued.
