England’s Test veteran Joe Root would be eyeing to surpass India legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record when he will take the field in IND vs ENG 5-match Test series, starting on January 25.
Root, who has been England team’s pillar in the longest format, is just 9 runs away from surpassing Sachin and becoming the batter with most runs in India vs England Test matches.
Currently, the Master Blaster holds the record of most runs in IND vs ENG Test matches with 2535 runs in 53 innings.

Root, who is second on the list with 2526 runs in 45 innings can go past Tendulkar in the first Test itself and set a new record.
