In a big blow for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of IPL 2024. Hasaranga will not play the tournament owing to a left heel injury. SRH will miss the services of the all-rounder who is capable of delivering with both bat and ball consistently.
SRH’s Wanindu Hasaranga ruled out of IPL 2024
“There’s a swelling in the heel and he has been playing with injections. So he has decided to get this issue sorted out before the World Cup and informed us of his decision to skip the IPL this year,” SLC CEO Ashley de Silva told the Sunday Times Newspaper, as per NewsWireLK.
While the Lankan played the series against Bangladesh this month, he played in considerable pain, the report suggested. Hasaranga had an incredible 2022 season for the RCB, where he picked up 26 wickets at an economy rate of 7.54. At the 2024 IPL Auctions, he was bagged for INR 1.5 Cr by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
