Indian cricket legend Jhulan Goswami has embarked on a new chapter in her illustrious career, joining the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) as a mentor for their women’s team in the upcoming Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).

The former speedster, who retired from international cricket in 2022 after a remarkable 20-year career, expressed her excitement about the new role. “It’s an honour to join such a quality franchise,” Goswami said. “Knight Riders have a fantastic reputation, and I’m thrilled to be part of their women’s team.”
TKR has assembled a formidable squad for the WCPL, featuring star players like Deandra Dottin, Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, Jess Jonassen, and Shikha Pandey. The team is aiming to defend their 2021 WCPL title.

When will WCPL start?
The WCPL is set to begin in Trinidad and Tobago in August, with TKR looking to make a strong impact under the guidance of their new mentor.

Goswami’s journey with the Knight Riders family began with a meeting with team owner Shah Rukh Khan and Venky Mysore in Kolkata during the Indian Premier League. Impressed by their vision and passion for the game, she readily accepted the mentorship role.
